Product description

Neodisher SeptoClean is a unique, versatile detergent based on potassium hydroxide and surfactants. It has exceptional properties for removing blood residue, protein and other typical surgical deposits combined with a very gentle action on materials.

neodisher SeptoClean supports anti-prion prophylaxis and exhibits destabilising, inactivating and decontamination effects on prions, as confirmed by testing in accordance with the proposals of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), Germany.

In the two-stage SeptoClean process, neodisher SeptoClean exhibits bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal efficacy provided that the instructions for use are followed.

Surgical instruments made of stainless steel, titanium, chrome-plated steel, nickel-plated brass, hard metals, and anaesthetic equipment are not damaged by the product solutions. Surfaces made of good quality anodised aluminium can also be treated with the product. In the case of titanium coatings or their alloys, a change in the colour of the instruments may occur due to a reduction in the thickness of the surface titanium oxide layer. Follow the instrument manufacturers' recommendations regarding reprocessing.

Application

For the automated reprocessing of surgical instruments, including minimally invasive surgery instruments and dental instruments, anaesthetic equipment, and other medical devices suitable for automated processing. Depending on the appropriate programme, neodisher SeptoClean can be used in a washer-disinfector for the following applications:

  • for machine pre-washing and disinfection with prion-active properties as an alternative to typical manual pre-treatment prior to machine decontamination, e.g. for a prolonged period before processing
  • for washing in thermal decontamination processes to reduce the risk of transmission of TSE (transmissible spongiform encephalopathy) agents in patients without symptoms of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and its variants in thermal and chemo-thermal processes
  • for combined washing and disinfection in chemo-thermal processes.
